Bio

Creatively I started out as a musician in the mid 80's. Composer, bassist, and guitarist (and now, believe it or not, drummer for vintage style hair metal band BURN) for an eclectic mix of styles. Everything from heavy metal to hardcore to alternative (when it really was an ALTERNATIVE) and, back to metal again.

It was in 1999 when the idea behind a song I had written transformed into my first novel Wasted Land which was published for a few years time with a small indie publisher. Since then I have written several novels, a handful of which have been published (2 currently under contract and available)--see books page. As well, I was the proud founder and Editor for the alternative literary e-zine New Graffiti.(no longer in existance). I've also worked on staff writng non-fiction informative and review pieces for print periodicals such as The Crow, Upfront, and Vox magazines.

Presently I reside very happily with my zany scientist husband Adam, my "ACTION" dog Honey, and my vicious guard cat Turkish (named after a character in a movie who was named after a plane crash), in a creepy little border town. Although my writing career has slowed some by my own choice, I still write, but novels only. Life experience and maturity has changed much for me, including what my view of success is. Writing is no longer something I must pattern in order to be marketable, but rather a very unhurried and thoughtful process. Now in my youngest forties, I realize that my success lies primarily in whether I have pleased myself or not. I care not how others read me - if I enjoy what I've written, then I've remained true to myself and that to me, is success. To sell out is to fail; in ALL aspects of life.
